An academic meeting entitled: “Community based and popular education in disasters” was held by the Iranian “secretariat of health in disasters and emergencies” and “Research center in Emergency and Disaster Health”. In this gathering, some related subjects below were discussed:

- Review of community knowledge and Risk understanding

- Popular education: from theoretical concepts to practice

- Popular participation in disasters based on international frameworks

- Stakeholders duties in popular education and coming challenges

- Disaster management and popular activities programs

In the second part of this meeting, expert panel was gathered to conclusion and practical extraction.
